Valley Bengali Community (VBC)

Valley Bengali Community (VBC) organized its first Saraswati Puja in 1987. But it wasn't the only show in town. At least two other organizations were already serving the Bengali community in the Southland by that time and doing a very good job of it. VBC wasn’t started to supplant or even to rival the existing Bengali organizations but to complement their services to the Bengalis of the Valley. VBC added a small-town closeness to the small community of Bengalis in the Valley who were already reaping the benefits of being a part of the large Bengali community in the Greater Los Angles area. VBC has always had an inclusive agenda. Members of VBC have continued to participate actively in the events of the larger Bengali organizations in the city.
